Football brings people together, and it has done so in almost every country in the world. When India and Brazil announced that they would play a friendly on October 3, 2026, at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYKB), also known as the Salt Lake Stadium, it sent waves of disbelief and joy through the nation. Fans once again set club rivalries aside and joined forces to head to the stadium not only to support their national team, but also to catch a glimpse of the five-time World Champions.
From a fan’s perspective, this was one of the most (if not the most) lucrative football events in the history of Indian football. From an organiser’s perspective, the challenges were many, and the stakes were extremely high. But, as always, DNA Networks was ready to face them head-on and provide the optimal output that was either at par with the promises made or above par, because never in our history have we settled for or provided subpar solutions for any event.
Salt Lake was the main viable option but needed major upgrades. In the preparation and logistics phase, the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) sent multiple delegations to conduct strict inspections and table some non-negotiable demands. These delegations visited in August and September, and their requirements exceeded even those for top Indian cricketers. That is the level we were operating and organising at.
While the fans waited eagerly for matchday, DNA started its work weeks prior to it. More than 100 crew members worked in and around the stadium to create an experience of the highest level. This was not a last-minute overlay. It was a detailed, well-thought-out transformation that included concept and creative development, full-scale branding, hospitality, team rooms, dugouts, LED systems, lighting, projection mapping, and match entertainment.
DNA had to ensure that it not only focused on meeting the expectations of the Brazilian delegation, but also on honouring the Mecca of Indian Football. Every corner of VYBK had something being built, branded and transformed ahead of matchday. The hospitality areas were transformed to create a premium environment worthy of hosting international guests and dignitaries.
The locker rooms were one of the areas that attracted our maximum attention because it was going to be a place that was repeatedly accessed by not just the Indian players but the Brazilian squad as well. Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti criticising even a tiny element of the locker room or dugout would spell failure for DNA. Hence, the extra attention to detail. The rooms and dugouts were meticulously prepared so that players from both teams stepped into spaces that reflected the stature of this fixture.
LED installations and lighting designs were calibrated to amplify the drama that unfolded on the pitch, while projection mapping on the facade of the stadium added layers of visual storytelling fans can devour. We wove the match entertainment elements naturally into this massive event to keep energy levels high from the moment fans started entering the arena. DNA coordinated across creative, technical, logistical, and operational teams to ensure the execution of this event was flawless.
After working diligently for weeks before the match, D-Day finally arrived. The lights came on and the stands started filling up. Everyone could feel the change in the atmosphere. The lights not only illuminated the field of play but also highlighted weeks of detailed construction and branding work. It unified the VYBK, the lighting and LED systems heightened every moment, the hospitality spaces delivered optimal comfort and exclusivity, and the overall vibe remained electric.
The much-awaited India v/s Brazil clash unfolded against a backdrop that DNA had curated and crafted carefully for weeks, to match the historic weight of the occasion. For the 50,000+ spectators, the spectacle may have lasted about 90 minutes. But DNA spent more than 20,000 minutes only to ensure that the 90 minutes experienced by the fans, guests, dignitaries, players, coaches, and all staff members became unforgettable.
